TO: LOCAL UNIONS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE FLORENCE
RE: HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS
Local Unions affected by Hurricane Florence:
The Trustees of the Central States Health Fund are concerned about the devastating effect the flooding crisis has had on the people affected by Hurricane Florence, especially our TeamCare members. While state and local officials continue to improve conditions, the Funds’ Trustees have taken action to assist our members during this crisis. We would appreciate it if the Local Union could post the attached Special Bulletin 2018-2 which covers various benefit modifications made by the Trustees to help members during this crisis. The Special Bulletin will also be available on our website as well. With uncertainty as to when some coastal employers will return to business, we will continue to reach out to our Local Unions for updates to ensure that members have continued eligibility during this crisis.
Local Union staff can contact their Field Service Representative or Mike Mullane with any questions or to assist a specific member. Members can contact TeamCare directly at (800) TEAMCARE (800-832-6227) or through our Message Center at MyTeamCare.org.
The thoughts and prayers of our Trustees, along with the entire staff at TeamCare, are with our local unions, members, and retirees during this crisis. The Trustees will continue to evaluate the situation and offer assistance where possible.
Sincerely,
BOARD OF TRUSTEES, CENTRAL STATES, SOUTHEAST
AND SOUTHWEST AREAS HEALTH AND WELFARE FUND, BY:
THOMAS C. NYHAN
